In this quarter’s Employee Spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce Walker, a dedicated team member at Paperwise for over 3.5 years. Walker’s tenacity, creativity, and unwavering commitment to excellence have contributed significantly to our success. Today, we are learning more about Walker, his experiences, and how he has grown with Paperwise.

Walker’s Tasks & Responsibilities at Paperwise 

As the Director of Technical Services at Paperwise, Walker plays a crucial role in overseeing the Customer Success team, ensuring that our clients receive top-notch support and service. His responsibilities span from managing the implementation of our solutions and designing efficient workflows to handling install base account management sales. Walker’s expertise is not just limited to customer success; he also takes charge of project management for both client-centric and internal projects, showcasing his remarkable ability to lead and manage complex tasks with precision and foresight.

In collaboration with the Sales team, Walker contributes his technical acumen to devise custom solutions for clients, assisting in the creation of demos or Proof of Concepts (POCs), and engaging in discovery sessions for potential new projects. His role extends into IT management, aiding in the oversight of the company’s technological infrastructure and ensuring operational efficiency and security. 

Walker’s Favorite Memory of Working at Paperwise 

Walker’s most memorable moment at Paperwise was successfully finishing the “Tank Star” project.  His leadership, along with his team’s dedication and hard work, revitalized the project. The successful launch not only marked a significant achievement but also highlighted Paperwise’s culture of resilience and teamwork.

This customer project was extremely customized when they bought Paperwise. Walker was critical in creating automation, workflows, reports and strategies to ensure this customer had the best system possible while solving all of their challenges. 

Walker’s Interests & Hobbies Outside of Work

Outside of work, Walker enjoys a variety of activities. He loves spending time with his family and engaging in outdoor pursuits like kayaking, camping, fishing, and golfing. An avid reader as well, Walker relaxes with books across different genres. Moreover, his interest in mechanics shines through his hobby of working on cars, where he appreciates the hands-on challenge and complexity. 

How Paperwise Has Changed Since Walker Started 

Since Walker started at Paperwise, the company has seen significant changes in its product offerings and technological approach, specifically with the Symphony solution. The web solution available at the time was basic and challenging to implement, primarily aimed at facilitating workflows without effective integration with other software tools. 

However, with strategic shifts in engineering practices and personnel changes, Paperwise has achieved remarkable progress. Symphony now offers a sophisticated web interface that enhances workflow processes and integrates seamlessly with its document management system. This advancement has dramatically reduced the core platform’s implementation times. Furthermore, Paperwise is dedicated to ongoing enhancement, adding new features every two weeks and showcasing the engineering team’s exceptional talent and dedication.

The Paperwise Developments Walker is Most Excited About in 2024 

This year, Walker is particularly enthusiastic about Paperwise’s strategic shift towards developing eco-systems. The company is moving from custom solutions to offering more repeatable solutions. This change, aimed at enhancing the repeatability and speed of production, will be a game-changer for the company.
