Adobe Read Updates

October 5, 2018

The latest Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader updates have resulted in some of our users experiencing complications with the Print to Paperwise feature. These have included printing blank pages, printing only partial pages and missing parts or blocks of text or images.

Resolutions to this problem can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions section at the bottom of the support page under "Printing a PDF to Paperwise is generating garbage/foreign characters." You may also wish to consult the "Basic Disk Cleanup" FAQ, as well.

Windows Defender Exploit Guard

March 19, 2018

Windows Defender added new capabilities under the name of Exploit Guard. One of which is Controlled Folder Access. As the name implies, it prevents unapproved folder access, which introduced some unexpected problems.

The user temporary file path is typically a place for applications to create temporary files and folders. Applications like Paperwise depend on full access to the user temporary folder. When Controlled Folder Access includes the user temporary folder, it imposes restrictions that affect your ability to use Paperwise. Fortunately, the feature is configurable. Simply allow SentTo.exe to have access to resolve these issues.

"Error 70 Permission Denied" Messages

February 8, 2018

Paperwise Support is seeing an increase in “Error 70 Permission Denied” messages. The error occurs when using Send To or Print To Paperwise.

The issue involves loss of rights to the SendToPickList subfolder in the user’s temporary file path. Paperwise Send To creates the folder as needed then uses it to store documents on their way into Paperwise.

It is possible that recent Windows or Antivirus updates limit the application’s ability to create the folder. Manually creating the file folder in the user’s %temp% path and granting the user full control over the folder resolves the issue. Paperwise is investigating reports of the error and looking for a root cause.

Paperwise Buttons in Internet Explorer Not Working

October 20, 2017

We have a set of directions that can assist with that on our support page:   https://www.paperwise.com/support

Most recently,  the Windows 10 Fall Creators update (1709)  has disable VBScript from running in Internet Explorer by default.   This update can affect those who use PaperWise buttons in Internet Explorer.  This includes, but is not limited to, Sagitta and AMS360 .

According to the update summary “VBScript is now disabled for Internet Explorer by default”. The  newest version of Windows 10 build 1709 appears to disable VBScript even if enabled before the upgrade.

Please contact PaperWise Support if you have recently upgraded to this version and your PaperWise buttons in Internet Explorer no longer function.

Paperwise Won Innovation Award

March 6, 2017

What would businesses be without technology? No matter the size or focus of your enterprise, technology allows businesses to work efficiently and expand quickly. Biz 417, a business publication, in partnership with the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), worked to recognize the local standouts and innovators making technological waves at the first annual Excellence in Technology Awards.

We were honored to be recognized for our new product, ONE – a solution that is shaped and molded to fit your business’ information gaps – with the Software Application award. ONE changes the way you work by simplifying your processes and saving you time and money.

“Technology software that saves time and is easy to use is something most of us are seeking,” says Excellence in Technology judge, Rayanna Anderson, quoted in Biz 417. “PaperWise’s ONE solution of automating workflow processes sounds like a dream come true. Time is our most precious commodity; therefore, software that gives us more time is high on my list.”

Our team of thinkers were thrilled to accept the award at the Excellence in Tech Awards event on March 2.  With our goal of improving your work life, this award validates, not only to us, but also to you, that we can truly impact your business. Innovation is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It should be your solution.

v6.5.4 Paperwise Enhancement

December 7, 2016

A software issue was discovered regarding interruptions populating index fields within the right-click menu of PaperWise. When the user chose to revise the document, Query detected the incomplete fields as changes.

The PaperWise engineering team created a new fix that disables display of the right-click menu in the Query picklist until the current document has completed loading. This won’t impact users unless they are using the right-click as a means to load documents.

This fix is the best option for making sure index values finish populating before a user can choose to revise a document from the right-click menu.
