FAQ 26 - Is there a "rule of thumb" formula you can give us for determining what our storage requirements may be?
Yes. If you're storing mostly scanned images, you can count on your documents ranging
from 30,000 characters to 40,000 characters (or bytes.) A 100 GB hard drive will store
approximately 2,800,000 images. On the other hand, Microsoft Office documents take up
considerably more space. Sizes vary wildly for Office documents, so there's no way to
predict the storage requirements except to measure your usage and extrapolate it.
