FAQ 12 - How secure is the PaperWise system?
The PaperWise system provides document access privileges so each user can only
see documents that are pertinent to his or her work. Security is controlled in
layers to allow very precise control over who can and cannot access specific
information. A user login controls access at the system level and users must
have a valid account in order to login. Once authenticated, security rights limit
access for individual departments or functional groups. For example, employees
in the shipping department have no visibility to human resources' documents.
PaperWise also limits access to specific features or functions, limiting printing,
emailing, or exporting. PaperWise also allows independent control over view,
modify, or delete rights for features such as documents, notes, or annotations.
PaperWise allows administrators to specify any index criteria or a combination
of criteria to apply restrictions. This can make specific documents "invisible" to
some users while providing access to all documents for authorized users. A common
example is providing access to documents stored in only the last 12 months for
typical users, while allowing access to all records for an audit team.
