The way businesses
share information is evolving with companies relying heavily on
technology to improve relationships, service, and communications
with their customers, partners, and employees. To help
customers maintain a competitive advantage through internet and
smart technologies, PaperWise instituted a new division to meet
customer demand.
If you were unable to join us at Summit 2011, then you probably have not had the chance to acquaint yourself with the newest division of PaperWise - the Web Development Group. Currently a team of four, the group was initially founded with two members, PaperWise veterans Lance Langford and Larry Vernon. The two offer a combined experience of more than 17 years with PaperWise, and have since been joined by Matt Alexander and Nick Roos.
"What we do is take the need to share information outside of the workplace and inject technologies that satisfy this existing need," says Lance Langford. "Our strength is the ability to embrace those technologies to solve communication problems - even with such a dynamically changing industry."
At a base level, the Web Development Group provides document access over a secure portal content management system through the web called Connect. Another common piece offered is called SmartForms - a PDF form that extends beyond fillable text boxes to include drop-down menus, checkboxes, calendars, and more. This technology allows users to submit data directly into their database or management system via the web.
When it comes to building client portals, the team works side-by-side with businesses to create a solution that meets each of their requirements. "We are engaged at every level of the website from customizing the look, feel, and branding to the functionality of the pages and the backend database connection," explains Langford. Due to the customizability of the solution, users have the flexibility to build onto their portal over time. For PaperWise customer WFL, the ability to customize and add functionality over time is a real benefit as it opens the door for client feedback to drive the evolution of the site.
The team is currently working on several projects, including a PaperWise Customer Portal that will eventually replace the existing myPaperWise site. Larry Vernon feels this kind of technology is really about relationships. "What we are trying to do is bring people and businesses closer together. Technology allows us to strengthen relationships by providing tools to help foster communication, giving businesses ways to leverage their existing resources while easily sharing documents and information with the people who drive their business."
